MEET: David Smith

We are highlighting some of our staff members who make the magic happen behind the scenes here at Ocean Delight. Without them, our job would be that much harder. Meet David Smith:


Sugars has to be the sweetest person of all. He is always busy, always helping everyone, sometimes at the detriment of getting his own work done on time. There is no ‘my work’ and ‘your work’, no job description to follow by rule, but simply what needs to be done now.

  1. What do you do?
    I sort and pickup product from local fishing vessels. I have to ensure that the fish is very fresh, packed tightly and covered with plenty of ice in our insulated coolers.
  2. How long have you been with the company?
    9 years
  3. How do you feel about your job?
    My job is adventurous. I meet a lot of good people who treat me well. I enjoy working to ensure that my family is taken care of and happy.
  4. What is your favourite seafood recipe?
    White Marlin, seasoned with Maggi All Purpose, Thyme, Chives, Chadon Beni. Season fish well. Add salt and black pepper to flour apply to fish and fry.
