SHRIMP WONTONS

What is it about Trini style Wontons that taste so good? It’s a Chinese/Asian dish that has taken on a life of its own in Trinidad and Tobago. This dish is loved by many, and you will see why. It has a great crunch and goes nicely with soy and pepper sauce. Served as an appetizer, it easily makes a great local snack for any soirée, or even just chilling at home with a movie. Ingredients
Two packs of wonton skins

Filling:
Two packs shrimp (approx. 1 1/2 lbs)
One lime or lemon juiced
Two cloves garlic
Five leaves bandhani (chadon beni)
Two pimiento peppers
One small onion
One small piece of ginger
1 tbsp. soy sauce
One bouillon cube
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. pepper sauce (optional)
oil for frying

Dipping sauce:
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. grind seasoning
One tsp. mustard
1/2 tsp. pepper (optional)
